Hello,
My name is Brandy Nielsen, I am the lead teacher here at SICP! I was born and raised in Olympia! We moved to Oregon about 7 years ago where I graduated with honors from Portland State University in Child, Youth, and Family studies. After I graduated we decided to come back home. Now I am lucky enough to teach here! I am a strong believer that children are great natural learners, and it is my job to figure out how to keep the school environment constantly interesting and engaging. My biggest strength that I bring is my strong connection to social emotional development. I am dedicated to your children coming out the other side of preschool ready to thrive as they continue on their journey. I also want this to be an amazing experience for you as parents. One way I do this is to have an open door policy. We truly believe that team work makes the dream work, and we are happy to let parents be a part of that team.
When I am not at the preschool, the rest of my time is dedicated to my own family. I have been married for over 16 years and together my husband and I are raising three wonderful children.
Abbie Rose
Abbie has 4 daughters ages 11, 9, 6 and 4. She has been envolved in SICP for 7 years and has strong ties to the Steamboat Island community and Griffin School. Her focus is creating an open play concept to help children develop social skills needed for life. Art and math are favorites and bringing those concepts into the classroom in a fun engaging way is incredbly important.
